Shannon and I hosted a fundraiser for Dan Crenshaw this evening in our home and had most of the other CD2 candidates show up as well. Great evening with many old and new friends. Hope you enjoy these pics.
Happy Fourth! Shannon and I spent most of this past week in Washington DC at the Museum of the Bible. Scripture rings for true freedom and service throughout its pages.
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

I'll be watching the Facebook Live interview of Matthew Yordán Wiltshire tonight on the Republicans of Houston Facebook page. Justin Lurie and Matt are two of the most entertaining figures in Houston politics. Join in!
We remember our fallen heroes today.
Look at all those empty chairs today in Austin, Texas, yet Kevin Roberts is at work a day after one of the tougher fights any of those missing politicians has ever had. You might disagree with his politics, but you must respect his dedication.
If you are a Kingwood, Humble or Atascocita resident concerned about flooding, I highly recommend you attend the SJRA Board meeting tomorrow (Thursday) morning at 8:00AM. There will be Conroe residents in attendance protesting SJRA's decision to lower Lake Conroe seasonally, in order to get the SJRA Board to reverse their prior decisions. The SJRA Board needs 20+ residents there supporting their previous decision to seasonally lower Lake Conroe.
The meeting will take place at the SJRA headquarters at 1577 Dam Site Rd, Conroe, TX 77304 and begin promptly at 8:00AM tomorrow (Thursday) morning.
Dan Crenshaw won the primary to be our next Congressman and we congratulate he and Tara on this milestone. Dan's service did not stop on the battlefields of the Middle East or in the intelligence centers of Asia; it continues into the back halls of Congress. I am proud to count Dan as a friend and look forward to him defending our values in DC.
Shannon and I ask that you join us in praying for Dan and Tara each day through this November's general election. This is a special couple. Dan has earned our support and respect, and that will require each of us to act in the coming days.
Today, however, we celebrate; this American hero is ours.
Tomorrow is election day and every vote counts. I encourage you to ignore what you read in the mail and vote for the most conservative outsiders who will protect our families both on the border and overseas. The Republican Party needs candidates with strength and passion if we are to have a future with the next generation.
Our prayers are with the families of Santa Fe. Now that we've had a couple of days to ponder their tragedy, it is important to remember that this was not about guns, politics, or crime. It's about believing all pain and evil like this, will eventually be made untrue by Love Himself.
When pain is to be born…courage helps more than much knowledge…human sympathy more than much courage…and the love of God more than all.
